BILLING & PROJECT POSITION “ZONE-COVERAGE ©” ASSIGNMENT
POLICY
Many times,
at the discretion of Al Keith & Associates, an individual consultant
or employee of Al Keith & Associates may perform multiple labor
position category/tasks for the SAME Customer on the SAME
Contract or Project. All of
our Consultants and employees are “cross-trained” in multiple
consultancy labor positions, and thus in order to lower the “Contract or
Project Overhead” associated with a Customer’s work, we often will
elect to assign the same individual Consultant for multiple project labor
position categories or tasks. This
“ZONE-COVERAGE © ” policy is what allows Al Keith &
Associates to provide the lowest billable hourly rates as possible,
without added and unnecessary overhead expenses being passed on to our
Customers. Thus, as a
small-business, we are able to be very competitive and provide exceptional
quality services in our market sectors, while performing at the same or
higher level than our larger business competitors.
Al Keith & Associates believe that in order to provide the best
possible service and performance to our customers, and to maintain the
highest standards of ethics and fairness to our customers, that we should
bill our clients based on labor position category/task and not
based on the actual person or individual consultant.
We call this “ZONE-COVERAGE ©”
and we believe that we are unique as a Consulting Firm with this approach.
For
instance, if one of our Senior Project Manager consultants is performing
work on behalf of a customer on-site and is performing typical “Senior
Project Manager” labor position tasks for a portion of the site-visit,
and then during the same visit our consultant is also spending a portion
of their time performing typical “CAD/CAFM Technician” labor position
tasks, then the Customer will be billed at a proportionate rate of the
labor position task based on the amount of time spent performing each
labor position task.
(For
example, it is not uncommon that one of our Senior Designers will be at a
client’s site performing customer-requested software or database
customizations and that also during the course of this same site visit,
the customer may ask our consultant to also “update CAD floor plans with
wall or furniture reconfigurations”.
In this scenario, Al Keith & Associates may elect to have the
“Senior Designer” perform the “CAD Technician” task while still
on-site, rather than charge the client for a separate site visit by
another consultant. Of course,
this policy is predicated on the premise that the “Senior Designer”
also posses the proper “CAD Technician” skill set and education
requirements!)
The
“ZONE-COVERAGE ©”
policy applies to all billable hourly reimbursable work performed by Al
Keith & Associates on behalf of our Customers regardless of whether or
not the work was performed on-site or at Al Keith & Associate’s
office location.
